- DSP 2009 Conference in Greece
Looks like im off to Greece in July! My paper got accepted to the DSP 2009 Conference in Santorini, Greece I was so ecstatic yesterday upon seeing the acceptance email. It made me believe and have more confidence that what we do in the Philippines are worthy to be presented to an international [...] - Thesis Done! :)
Wow – still feels surreal, but its done!!! I had my thesis defense this afternoon and i passed! 3 years of work is done. Il write more as soon as it sinks in … but im in cloud nine hehe feels sooo great! Finally – its finished – and [...] - Thesis Defense is here! :)
The Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering is pleased to announce the Oral Defense of the Master’s Thesis of Ms. Amadea Paula Q. Unisa Entitled: “Real-time Implementation of Low Bit Rate Wideband Speech Coders on ADSP-21065L” for the degree of MS in Electrical Engineering Date: October 14, 2008 Time: 4 pm Venue: PLDT Multimedia Lecture Hall Panel Members: Thesis Adviser: Rowena Cristina L. Guevara, Ph.D. Chairman: [...] - Out of memory (ADSP 21065L)
I have encountered the ADSP linker error [Error li1040] more times than I could remember while working on my thesis. This error message goes something like [Error li1040] “.\EZLAB_21065L_debugger.ldf”:97 Out of memory in output section ’seg_pmco’ in processor ‘p0′ Total of 0×88e word(s) were not mapped. For those of you who have already programmed a DSP, this is [...] - MELP algorithm finished! :)
This is a way-delayed update but still worth saying… Finally… the MELP code that I have been working on is finished (almost two weeks ago)! Yay!!! Its just amazing when your hardwork translates to an output – in my case a working code! Now, its time for more integration so [...] - arccos and arctan approximation
For my thesis, I am implementing the 2.4 kbps MELP algorithm in assembly. One subroutine in that algorithm is the conversion of LPC coefficients to their LSF counterparts. In my implementation, I used Chebyshev polynomials, proposed by Peter Kabal and Ravi Prakash Ramachandran. Part of this method is to compute for Error: http://www.daejavu.com/wp-content/plugins/wpmathpub/phpmathpublisher/img/ must have [...] - Antilog Approximation on ADSP-21065L
It took me some time to look for a site that could help me implement a program that does antilog approximation Error: http://www.daejavu.com/wp-content/plugins/wpmathpub/phpmathpublisher/img/ must have write access Read the official wpmathpub plugin FAQ for more details, where Error: http://www.daejavu.com/wp-content/plugins/wpmathpub/phpmathpublisher/img/ must have write access Read the official wpmathpub plugin FAQ for more details is any integer [...] - On reading/writing binary files using Matlab
I spent most of my time yesterday trying to debug this problem I had with reading and writing binary files using Matlab. For my thesis, I have a copy of the C program that simulates the 2.4 kbps MELP Proposed Federal Standard speech coder from Texas Instruments, Inc. This code can output either compressed speech [...] - My once-a-month entry…
I have been very bad at updating this blog… and I kept saying I’ll get better but obviously I don’t. Well, just to make up, now I’m taking some time (hopefully just 10 minutes) to finish this entry and update you guys what I have been doing for the last month or so… I’ve [...] - Documentation seems more difficult than I thought…
On my last thesis update on this blog, I mentioned that my code is up and working! Yes, it still is working pretty good and now I have to document its implementation. I would say that for my thesis, the implementation section is the most important chapter since my thesis revolves around it (thus the [...]
